Resources just before closing and after completion

Pre-closing checklist

If using gas, complete paperwork for Heritage Propane 6 weeks prior to closing. Contact Heritage Propane to fill out the paperwork require to fill the tank and set up billing. Plant City, 863-665-6016, or Tampa, 727-423-6424. This must be done well in advance so the tank can be filled and the appliances can be tested.
Call three weeks prior to get on the schedule for “pool school” for the day before closing so you may enjoy your pool and spa after the back breaking move!
Contact the bank and title company two weeks prior to set up the closing times and set the closing expectations. We prefer closing times at 4pm and walkthroughs at 3pm. Get instructions from them what will be required from you and by what dates.
Work on getting insurance at two weeks prior to closing.
Call Bright House or Verizon to hook up service to the home two weeks prior to closing.
Call Jim Sheppard, 813-394-7512, ten days in advance to meet with you on the day of closing to remove our radio equipment and activate your equipment. If you are using them for your security/monitoring they offer a great service with Total Connect that has an app to monitor your security with your phone.
Call Teco one week in advance to schedule transfer of account into your name one day prior to closing to assure there is no lapse in service.
Do the final walkthrough one week to ten days prior to closing with the builder and generate final punch items. Cosmetic items are not included in warranty.
Review final accounting and change orders and settle with the builder prior to closing or at the walk through.
Call county waste to order garbage can and recycling can
Complete final walk through one hour or so prior to closing check off the punch list, sign as complete, and hand off keys and garage remotes.
